GACS Spartan Scramble 2022 Tournament Information
Coaches,

I hope you all had a good start to your competition season this past weekend. I wanted to reach out and make sure we’re all set for this coming Saturday at GAC. I know some of you have been here before for this tournament and it’s the same as always. I’ve taken fewer teams and we’ll be in a smaller gym but everything else will be the same.

We’ll be in the Spartan Gym on Saturday (red arrow). Buses should enter camps at the Oakbrook Parkway entrance (royal blue arrow) and then park in the soccer/baseball stadium lot (black arrow). There is parking for families around the Bradford Center and when that fills up, they can also park with the buses up the hill.

Tournament Format
Individual round-robin varsity tournament.
No 8th graders but bring your JV kids to get some good mat time.
I prefer if we could hold it to 20 per team for those of you with a larger squad. Please enter your kids into the Google spreadsheet by Thursday with their actual weights.
After weighing in each wrestler on Saturday, we’ll double-check the pools that have been already created and dump any no-shows or update any pools if any wrestlers weigh in much higher or lower than previously entered. Please shoot me a text on your way here if there are any no-shows that will help us as well.
Our plan is to put them into pools of 5 so each wrestler will have a chance to wrestle 4 matches on Saturday.
We’ll do our best to keep teammates separated but there will inevitably be some pools with teammates.
My biggest goal is to get some quality mat time for our kids early on in the season.

AWARDS
Each pool champion will receive a medal. No team awards or team scores will be kept.
