Jones Wynn has a candlelight service each year for families who have lost loved ones.
They connect with a local High School team to put the candles out the Saturday evening before the Sunday night service.
Jones Wynn has asked our Wrestling Team to set the candles this year this Saturday evening (12.3.22).
They have committed to follow up with a donation to the program for our Wrestling Teams’ generous time.
VRHS Girls Soccer did it for many years and said it took less than 45 minutes to place a lighted candle at each grave if a decent amount of volunteers show up.
They have someone there with the candles to give directions and reminders about reverence at graves.
Varsity Boys Wrestling does have a tournament that Saturday, 12.3.22.
Therefore, at the conclusion of the tournament, we will take the bus directly to VRHS to unload everything. Then head to Jones Wynn as a group.
Unfortunately, we will not have a school bus for transportation to and from the funeral home. We are asking that wrestlers plan to carpool with each other (with guardian permission to do so) & a few parents to help with rides as well.

The VRHS Wrestling Coaching Staff will be in attendance for the candlelight set-up.
We are asking ALL wrestlers to plan ahead and help give back to the community of Villa Rica.
It’s for a good cause! Let’s show VR Nation that we are more than just a wrestling team by lending a helping hand & serve with integrity!!
